Our Contemporary frames are a quality 40mm deep frame available in a White, Walnut, Natural, Gun Metal or Matt Black finish. All artwork will be professionally mounted in brilliant white card and glass will be provided on small and medium sizes while a non-reflective perspex on the larger sizes. Each frame is ready to hang with string.

Baroque Frames

The vintage style Baroque frames are beautifully ornate and available in Gold, Silver, Black and Walnut. All frames are packed securely packaged and will arrive in perfect condition.

Our artwork deserves to be printed on the best quality paper...and now we can say it is. We now use a fine art cotton based paper with archival qualities and outstanding reproduction.

Mark Yates Artist Q & A

I was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire. I spent the 90s touring the world with a rock n roll band, nowadays Im designing art and merchandise back in Bradford.

I have always drawn, painted and built things since I can remember. The last few years are the first I have thought about art commercially.

I suppose every form of art has influences, I have a few different series of work. My more accessible stuff is based on retro glamour, whereas my Wreaking Havoc series is more debaucherous.

There are thousands of artists I admire, too many to mention, although since acquiring an airbrush I have been temporarily drawn down the Vince Ray route.

Backstage Pass is my most recent favourite that The Canvas Lounge feature. It tells the story of a naive groupie, caught up in a supposedly glamourous lifestyle, it was nearly called Too Much Too Soon.
The original is shaped out of wood and presented in two layers, so the skull is behind the girl.

The Canvas Lounge is one of the best art reproduction companies I have come across and I am very proud to be featured on their galleries.

Look out for a new range of images I am producing this summer, I will be working in shades of grey and edging back to the retro glamour side of things.

Banksy versus Bristol Musem

We were in Bristol at the weekend visiting the recently unveiled Banksy exhibition in which he has remixed the museum's own collection with his own satirical artworks. It is by far the largest Banksy show to date and if you're a fan you are sure to be amazed. The main focus was a large room lined with humorous graffiti pieces, one of our favourites was a hilarious image of two shoddily drawn stick men, prettily mounted, with one of them asking, "Does anyone actually take this art seriously?" The other replies, "Never underestimate the power of a big gold frame."

Standing apart from the raw and witty style we know and love was a huge painting of the House of Commons populated by apes, which like most of his fine art paintings are beautifully executed. Banksy is master of the suprising juxtaposition...another room was filled with his animated sculptures. We were tickled yet chilled by the baby chicken nuggets eating from a tub of barbeque sauce and what appeared to be a living breating cheetah was actually a fur coat.

The exhibition was cheeky but sophisticated and a real insight into the artist's mind - Well worth the 2 hour wait to get in!
